bfor your day has come,

22And you his son,
Or successor
jBelshazzar, khave not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,
23but you have lifted up yourself against lthe Lord of heaven. And mthe vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. nAnd you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, obut the God in whose hand is your breath, and pwhose are all your ways, qyou have not honored.

24Then from his presence rthe hand was sent, and this writing was inscribed.

1 Peter 5:5

5Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. sClothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for tGod opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Revelation of John 18:6-8

6 uPay her back as she herself has paid back others,
and repay her vdouble for her deeds;
mix a double portion for her win the cup she mixed.
7 xAs she glorified herself and lived in luxury,
so give her a like measure of torment and mourning,
since in her heart she says,
y‘I sit as a queen,
I am no widow,
and mourning I shall never see.’
8For this reason her plagues will come zin a single day,
death and mourning and famine,
and aashe will be burned up with fire;
for abmighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
