Jeremiah 6:1

Impending Disaster for Jerusalem

1 Flee for safety, aO people of Benjamin,
from the midst of Jerusalem!
Blow the trumpet in bTekoa,
and raise a signal on cBeth-haccherem,
for disaster looms dout of the north,
and great destruction.

Ezekiel 33:2-6

2 eSon of man, speak to fyour people and say to them, If gI bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and make him their hwatchman, 3and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and iblows the trumpet and warns the people, 4then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, jhis blood shall be upon his own head. 5 kHe heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life. 6 lBut if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, mthat person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.

One olike a vulture is over the house of the Lord,
because pthey have transgressed my covenant
and rebelled against my law.

Amos 3:6

6 qIs a trumpet blown in a city,
and the people are not afraid?
rDoes disaster come to a city,
unless the Lord has done it?
