Jeremiah 6:26

26O daughter of my people, aput on sackcloth,
and broll in ashes;
cmake mourning as for an only son,
most bitter lamentation,
for suddenly the destroyer
will come upon us.

Amos 8:10

10 dI will turn your feasts into mourning
and all your songs into lamentation;
eI will bring sackcloth on every waist
fand baldness on every head;
gI will make it like the mourning for an only son
and the end of it like a bitter day.

Matthew 24:30

30Then hwill appear in heaven ithe sign of the Son of Man, and then jall the tribes of the earth will mourn, and kthey will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven lwith power and great glory.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11

9As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but qbecause you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.

10For rgodly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas sworldly grief produces death. 11For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, twhat zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.
