Jeremiah 6:28-30

28 aThey are all stubbornly rebellious,
bgoing about with slanders;
they are cbronze and iron;
all of them act corruptly.
29The dbellows blow fiercely;
the lead is consumed by the fire;
ein vain the refining goes on,
for the wicked are not removed.
30 fRejected silver they are called,
for the Lord has rejected them.”

The Holy Stones Lie Scattered

1 gHow the gold has grown dim,
how the pure gold is changed!
The holy stones lie scattered
hat the head of every street.
2 The precious sons of Zion,
worth their weight in ifine gold,
how they are regarded as jearthen pots,
the work of a potter’s hands!

Ezekiel 22:18-22

18 kSon of man, the house of Israel has become ldross to me; all of them are mbronze and tin and iron and lead in the furnace; they are ndross of silver. 19Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20As one gathers silver and bronze and iron and lead and tin into a furnace, oto blow the fire on it in order to melt it, so I will gather you pin my anger and in my wrath, and I will put you in and melt you. 21I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in the midst of it. 22As silver is melted in a furnace, so you shall be melted in the midst of it, and you shall know that I am the Lord; qI have poured out my wrath upon you.”
