Jeremiah 7:29

29 a“‘Cut off your hair and cast it away;
raise a lamentation on bthe bare heights,
for the Lord has rejected and forsaken
the generation of his wrath.’

Jeremiah 9:10

10 “I will take up weeping and wailing for the mountains,
and a lamentation for cthe pastures of the wilderness,
dbecause they are laid waste so that no one passes through,
and the lowing of cattle is not heard;
eboth the birds of the air and the beasts
have fled and are gone.

Jeremiah 9:17

17 Thus says the Lord of hosts:
fConsider, and call for the mourning women to come;
send for the skillful women to come;

Jeremiah 9:20

20 Hear, O women, the word of the Lord,
and let your ear receive the word of his mouth;
teach to your daughters a lament,
and each to her neighbor a dirge.

Ezekiel 19:1

A Lament for the Princes of Israel

1And you, gtake up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,

Ezekiel 19:14

14 hAnd fire has gone out from the stem of its shoots,
has consumed its fruit,
iso that there remains in it no strong stem,
no scepter for ruling.
This is ja lamentation and has become a lamentation.

“‘How you have perished,
you who were inhabited from the seas,
O city renowned,

27Your riches, your wares, your merchandise,
your mariners and pyour pilots,
qyour caulkers, your dealers in merchandise,
and all your men of war who are in you,
with all your crew
that is in your midst,
sink into the heart of the seas
ron the day of your fall.
28At the sound of the cry of your pilots
sthe countryside shakes,
29and down from their ships
tcome all who handle the oar.
The mariners and all the pilots of the sea
stand on the land
30 uand shout aloud over you
and cry out bitterly.
vThey cast dust on their heads
wand wallow in ashes;
31they xmake themselves bald for you
and put sackcloth on their waist,
and they weep over you in bitterness of soul,
with bitter mourning.
32In their wailing they yraise a lamentation for you
and lament over you:
zWho is like Tyre,
like one destroyed in the midst of the sea?

Ezekiel 28:12

12 aaSon of man, abraise a lamentation over acthe king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God:

“You were the signet of perfection,
The meaning of the Hebrew phrase is uncertain

aefull of wisdom and afperfect in beauty.

Amos 5:16

“In all the squares ahthere shall be wailing,
and in all the streets they shall say, ‘Alas! Alas!’
They shall call the farmers to mourning
