3 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ^aAmend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place. 4 ^bDo not trust in these deceptive words: ‘This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’

5 “For if you truly ^camend your ways and your deeds, if you truly ^dexecute justice one with another, 6 if you ^edo not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, ^for shed innocent blood in this place, ^gand if you do not go after other gods to your own harm,

Hosea 6:6

6 For ^hI desire steadfast love ^{▼▼Septuagint mercy} and not sacrifice,
^jthe knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Hosea 12:6

6 “So you, ^kby the help of your God, return,
^lhold fast to love and justice,
and wait continually for your God.”

Amos 5:24

24 But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Zephaniah 2:3

Matthew 3:8-10

8 Bear fruit ^sin keeping with repentance. 9 And do not presume to say to yourselves, ^t‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from ^uthese stones to raise up children for Abraham. 10 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. ^vEvery tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Mark 12:30-34

30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 ^wThe second is this: ^x‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment ^ygreater than these.” 32 And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that ^zhe is one, and ^aathere is no other besides him. 33 And to love him with all the heart and with all ^abthe understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, ^acis much more than all ^adwhole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” ^aeAnd after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.
