Jeremiah 7:6-15

6if you ado not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, bor shed innocent blood in this place, cand if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, 7 dthen I will let you dwell in this place, ein the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.

8Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail. 9 fWill you steal, murder, commit adultery, gswear falsely, hmake offerings to Baal, iand go after other gods that you have not known, 10and then come and stand before me in this house, jwhich is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’—only to go on doing all these abominations? 11 kHas this house, lwhich is called by my name, mbecome a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, declares the Lord. 12Go now to nmy place that was in Shiloh, owhere I made my name dwell at first, and psee what I did to it because of the evil of my people Israel. 13And now, because you have done all these things, declares the Lord, and qwhen I spoke to you persistently you did not listen, and rwhen I called you, you did not answer, 14therefore I will do to sthe house tthat is called by my name, and in which you trust, and to the place that I gave to you and to your fathers, uas I did to Shiloh. 15 vAnd I will cast you out of my sight, was I cast out all your kinsmen, all the offspring of xEphraim.

Ezekiel 22:7

7Father and mother yare treated with contempt in you; the sojourner zsuffers extortion in your midst; the fatherless and the widow aaare wronged in you.

Ezekiel 22:12-14

12In you abthey take bribes to shed blood; acyou take interest and profit
That is, profit that comes from charging interest to the poor (compare Leviticus 25:36)
and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; but aeme you have forgotten, declares the Lord God.

13Behold, afI strike my hand at agthe dishonest gain that you have made, and at ahthe blood that has been in your midst. 14 aiCan your courage endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? ajI the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.

Micah 2:1-3

Woe to the Oppressors

1 akWoe to those who devise wickedness
and work evil alon their beds!
When the morning dawns, they perform it,
because it is in the power of their hand.
2They covet fields and amseize them,
and houses, and take them away;
they oppress a man and his house,
a man and his inheritance.
3Therefore thus says the Lord:
behold, against anthis family I am devising disaster,
The same Hebrew word can mean evil or  disaster, depending on the context

from which you cannot remove your necks,
and you apshall not walk haughtily,
aqfor it will be a time of disaster.

Micah 3:2-4

2you arwho hate the good and love the evil,
aswho tear the skin from off my people
Hebrew  from off them

and their flesh from off their bones,
3 auwho eat the flesh of my people,
and flay their skin from off them,
and break their bones in pieces
and chop them up like meat in a pot,
like flesh in a cauldron.
4 avThen they will cry to the Lord,
but he will not answer them;
awhe will hide his face from them at that time,
because they have made their deeds evil.

James 2:6

6But you axhave dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who aydrag you azinto court?

James 5:1-6
