Jeremiah 9:23-24

23 Thus says the Lord: ^a“Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24 but ^blet him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. ^cFor in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 1:12-17

12 What I mean is that ^deach one of you says, “I follow Paul,” or “I follow ^eApollos,” or “I follow ^fCephas,” or “I follow Christ.” 13 ^gIs Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you ^hbaptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except ⁱCrispus and ^jGaius, 15 so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (I did baptize also ^kthe household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and ^lnot with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

1 Corinthians 3:4-7

4 For ^mwhen one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” ⁿare you not being merely human?

5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? ^oServants through whom you believed, ^pas the Lord assigned to each. 6 ^qI planted, ^rApollos watered, ^sbut God gave the growth. 7 So ^tneither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.

1 Corinthians 4:6
