Jeremiah 9:23-24

23 Thus says the Lord: ^a“Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24 but ^blet him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. ^cFor in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 4:10

10 ^dWe are fools for Christ’s sake, but ^eyou are wise in Christ. ^fWe are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.

2 Corinthians 10:12-18

12 Not that we dare to classify or ^gcompare ourselves with some of those who ^hare commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are ⁱwithout understanding.

13 But we will not boast ^jbeyond limits, but will ^kboast only with regard to the area of influence God assigned to us, ^lto reach even to you. 14 For we are not overextending ourselves, as though we did not reach you. ^mFor we were the first to come all the way to you with the gospel of Christ. 15 We do not boast beyond limit in the labors of others. But our hope is that ⁿas your faith increases, our area of influence among you may be ^ogreatly enlarged, 16 so that we may preach the gospel in lands beyond you, without boasting of work already done in another’s area of influence. 17 “Let ^pthe one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” 18 For it is ^qnot the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one ^rwhom the Lord commends.

2 Corinthians 11:12

12 And what I am doing I will continue to do, ^sin order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do.

2 Corinthians 11:21-23

21 To my shame, I must say, ^twe were too weak for that!

But whatever anyone else dares to boast of—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast of that. 22 Are they Hebrews? ^uSo am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they offspring of Abraham?
