13 But I, O Lord, cry jto you;
kin the morning my prayer comes before you.
14O Lord, why ldo you cast my soul away?
Why mdo you hide your face from me?

I suffer your terrors; I am helpless.
The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain

16Your wrath has swept over me;
your odreadful assaults destroy me.
17They psurround me like a flood qall day long;
they rclose in on me together.
18You have caused smy beloved and my friend to shun me;
my companions have become darkness.
Or darkness has become my only companion

5 uThe Lord has become like an enemy;
vhe has swallowed up Israel;
whe has swallowed up all its palaces;
he has laid in ruins its strongholds,
and he has multiplied in the daughter of Judah
xmourning and lamentation.
6 He has laid waste his booth like a garden,
laid in ruins yhis meeting place;
zthe Lord has made Zion forget
festival and aaSabbath,
and in his fierce indignation has spurned king and priest.
