Job 21:27

27 Behold, I know your thoughts
and your schemes to wrong me.

Job 22:5-30

5Is not your evil abundant?
There is no end to your iniquities.
6For you have nexacted pledges of your brothers for nothing
oand stripped the naked of their clothing.
7You have given no water to the weary to drink,
and you have pwithheld bread from the hungry.
8 qThe man with power possessed the land,
and rthe favored man lived in it.
9You have ssent widows away empty,
and tthe arms of uthe fatherless were crushed.
10Therefore vsnares are all around you,
and sudden terror overwhelms you,
11or wdarkness, so that you cannot see,
and a xflood of ywater covers you.
12 “Is not God high in the heavens?
See zthe highest stars, how lofty they are!
13But you say, aaWhat does God know?
Can he judge through abthe deep darkness?
14 acThick clouds veil him, so that he does not see,
and he walks on the vault of heaven.’
15Will you keep to the old way
that wicked men have trod?
16They were snatched away adbefore their time;
their foundation was washed away.
17They said to God, aeDepart from us,’
and afWhat can the Almighty do to us?’
Hebrew them

18Yet he filled their houses with good things
but ahthe counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19 aiThe righteous see it and are glad;
the innocent one ajmocks at them,
20saying, ‘Surely our adversaries are cut off,
and what they left akthe fire has consumed.’
21 alAgree with God, and ambe at peace;
thereby good will come to you.
22Receive instruction from anhis mouth,
and aolay up his words in your heart.
23If you apreturn to the Almighty you will be aqbuilt up;
if you arremove injustice far from your tents,
24if you lay gold in asthe dust,
and gold of atOphir among the stones of the torrent-bed,
25then the Almighty will be your gold
and your precious silver.
26For then you auwill delight yourself in the Almighty
and avlift up your face to God.
27You will awmake your prayer to him, and he will hear you,
and you will axpay your vows.
28You will decide on a matter, and it will be established for you,
and aylight will shine on your ways.
29For when they are humbled you say, ‘It is because of pride’;
Or  you say, ‘It is exaltation’

but he saves bathe lowly.
30He bbdelivers even the one who is not innocent,
who will be delivered through bcthe cleanness of your hands.”

Ecclesiastes 9:1-2

Death Comes to All

1But all this I laid to heart, examining it all, bfhow the righteous and the wise and their deeds are bgin the hand of God. Whether it is love or hate, man does not know; both are before him. 2 bhIt is the same for all, since bithe same event happens to the righteous and the wicked, to the good and the evil,
Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate; Hebrew lacks  and the evil
to the clean and the unclean, to him who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice. As the good one is, so is the sinner, and he who bkswears is as he who shuns an oath.

Luke 13:2-5

2And he answered them, bl“Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3No, I tell you; but unless you bmrepent, you will all likewise perish. 4Or those eighteen on whom the tower in bnSiloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5No, I tell you; but unless you borepent, you will all likewise perish.”
