Job 1:9-11

9Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? 10Have you not put aa hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have bblessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11But cstretch out your hand and dtouch all that he has, and he will ecurse you fto your face.”

Job 2:4-6

4Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life. 5But gstretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will hcurse you to your face.” 6And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life.”

Job 22:6-30

6For you have iexacted pledges of your brothers for nothing
jand stripped the naked of their clothing.
7You have given no water to the weary to drink,
and you have kwithheld bread from the hungry.
8 lThe man with power possessed the land,
and mthe favored man lived in it.
9You have nsent widows away empty,
and othe arms of pthe fatherless were crushed.
10Therefore qsnares are all around you,
and sudden terror overwhelms you,
11or rdarkness, so that you cannot see,
and a sflood of twater covers you.
12 “Is not God high in the heavens?
See uthe highest stars, how lofty they are!
13But you say, vWhat does God know?
Can he judge through wthe deep darkness?
14 xThick clouds veil him, so that he does not see,
and he walks on the vault of heaven.’
15Will you keep to the old way
that wicked men have trod?
16They were snatched away ybefore their time;
their foundation was washed away.
17They said to God, zDepart from us,’
and aaWhat can the Almighty do to us?’
Hebrew them

18Yet he filled their houses with good things
but acthe counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19 adThe righteous see it and are glad;
the innocent one aemocks at them,
20saying, ‘Surely our adversaries are cut off,
and what they left afthe fire has consumed.’
21 agAgree with God, and ahbe at peace;
thereby good will come to you.
22Receive instruction from aihis mouth,
and ajlay up his words in your heart.
23If you akreturn to the Almighty you will be albuilt up;
if you amremove injustice far from your tents,
24if you lay gold in anthe dust,
and gold of aoOphir among the stones of the torrent-bed,
25then the Almighty will be your gold
and your precious silver.
26For then you apwill delight yourself in the Almighty
and aqlift up your face to God.
27You will armake your prayer to him, and he will hear you,
and you will aspay your vows.
28You will decide on a matter, and it will be established for you,
and atlight will shine on your ways.
29For when they are humbled you say, ‘It is because of pride’;
Or  you say, ‘It is exaltation’

but he saves avthe lowly.
30He awdelivers even the one who is not innocent,
who will be delivered through axthe cleanness of your hands.”

Job 34:8-9

8who travels in company with evildoers
and walks aywith wicked men?
9For azhe has said, ‘It profits a man nothing
that he should take delight in God.’

Job 42:7-9

The Lord Rebukes Job’s Friends

7After the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz bathe Temanite: “My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. 8Now therefore take bbseven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and bcoffer up a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job shall bdpray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.” 9 beSo Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the Lord had told them, and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer.

Psalms 35:11

11 bfMalicious
Or Violent
witnesses rise up;
they ask me of things that I do not know.

Isaiah 54:17

17no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,
and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord
bhand their vindication
Or righteousness
from me, declares the Lord.”

Romans 8:1
