To the choirmaster: according to dJeduthun. A Psalm of eAsaph.

1 I fcry aloud to God,
aloud to God, and he will hear me.
2 gIn the day of my trouble I seek the Lord;
in hthe night my ihand is stretched out without wearying;
my soul jrefuses to be comforted.
3When I remember God, I kmoan;
when I meditate, my spirit faints.  Selah
4 You hold my eyelids open;
I am so ltroubled that I cannot speak.
5I consider mthe days of old,
the years long ago.
6I said,
Hebrew lacks  I said
“Let me remember my osong in the night;
let me pmeditate in my heart.”
Then my spirit made a diligent search:
7“Will the Lord qspurn forever,
and never again rbe favorable?
8Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
Are his spromises at an end for all time?
9 tHas God forgotten to be gracious?
uHas he in anger shut up his compassion?”  Selah
