12 ^cFor the Lord of hosts has a day
against all that is proud and lofty,
against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low;
13 against all the ^dcedars of Lebanon,
lofty and lifted up;
and against all the ^eoaks of Bashan;
14 against all ^fthe lofty mountains,
and against all the uplifted hills;
15 against every high tower,
and against every fortified wall;
16 against all ^gthe ships of Tarshish,
and against all the beautiful craft.
17 ^hAnd the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
18 ⁱAnd the idols shall utterly pass away.
19 ^jAnd people shall enter the caves of the rocks
and the holes of the ground, ^{▼▼Hebrew dust}
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
^lwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
20 In that day ^mmankind will cast away
their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
which they made for themselves to worship,
to the moles and to the ⁿbats,
21 ^oto enter the caverns of the rocks
and the clefts of the cliffs,
from before the terror of the Lord,
and from the splendor of his majesty,
^pwhen he rises to terrify the earth.
22 ^qStop regarding man
^rin whose nostrils is breath,
for of what account is he?

Isaiah 24:21-23

21 On that day the Lord will punish
the host of heaven, in heaven,
and ^sthe kings of the earth, on the earth.
22 ^tThey will be gathered together
as prisoners in a pit;
they will be shut up in a prison,
and after many days ^uthey will be punished.
23 ^vThen the moon will be confounded
and the sun ashamed,
for ^wthe Lord of hosts reigns
on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,
and his glory will be before his elders.

Jeremiah 32:4

4 ^xZedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, ^ybut shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye.

Jeremiah 34:3

3 ^zYou shall not escape from his hand but shall surely be captured and delivered into his hand. ^aaYou shall see the king of Babylon eye to eye and speak with him face to face. And you shall go to Babylon.’

Jeremiah 38:18

18 But if you do not surrender to ^abthe officials of the king of Babylon, ^acthen this city shall be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, ^adand they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape from their hand.”

Jeremiah 38:23

23 All your wives and ^aeyour sons shall be led out to the Chaldeans, and you yourself shall not escape from their hand, but shall be seized by the king of Babylon, and this city shall be burned with fire.”
