Job 12:6-10

6 aThe tents of robbers are at peace,
and those who provoke God are secure,
who bring their god in their hand.
The meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain

7 But ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;
8or the bushes of the earth,
Or speak to the earth
and they will teach you;
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
9Who among all these does not know
that dthe hand of the Lord has done this?
10In ehis hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of all mankind.

Job 21:7-15

8Their goffspring are established in their presence,
and their descendants before their eyes.
9Their houses are hsafe from fear,
and ino rod of God is upon them.
10Their bull breeds without fail;
their cow calves and jdoes not miscarry.
11They send out their klittle boys like a flock,
and their children dance.
12They sing to lthe tambourine and mthe lyre
and rejoice to the sound of nthe pipe.
13They ospend their days in prosperity,
and in ppeace they go down to qSheol.
14They say to God, rDepart from us!
We do not desire the knowledge of your ways.
15 sWhat is the Almighty, that we should serve him?
And what tprofit do we get if we pray to him?’

Psalms 17:14

14from men by your hand, O Lord,
from umen of the world whose vportion is in this life.
Or  from men whose portion in life is of the world

You fill their womb with treasure;

they are satisfied with ychildren,
and they leave their abundance to their infants.

Psalms 73:3-7

3 zFor I was aaenvious of the arrogant
when I saw the abprosperity of the wicked.
4 For they have no pangs until death;
their bodies are fat and sleek.
5They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not acstricken like the rest of mankind.
6Therefore pride is adtheir necklace;
violence covers them as aea garment.
7Their afeyes swell out through fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.

Jeremiah 12:1-2

Jeremiah’s Complaint

1 agRighteous are you, O Lord,
when I complain to you;
yet I would plead my case before you.
ahWhy does the way of the wicked prosper?
Why do all aiwho are treacherous thrive?
2You plant them, and they take root;
they grow and produce fruit;
ajyou are near in their mouth
and far from their heart.

Daniel 4:17

17The sentence is by the decree of akthe watchers, the decision by the word of althe holy ones, to the end that the living may know that the Most High amrules the kingdom of men anand gives it to whom he will and aosets over it the lowliest of men.’

Daniel 5:18-21

18O king, the apMost High God aqgave arNebuchadnezzar your father askingship and greatness and glory and majesty. 19And because of the greatness that he gave him, atall peoples, nations, and languages autrembled and feared before him. Whom he would, he killed, and whom he would, he kept alive; whom he would, he raised up, and whom he would, he humbled. 20But avwhen his heart was lifted up and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, awhe was brought down from his kingly throne, and his glory was taken from him. 21 axHe was driven from among the children of mankind, and his mind was made like that of a beast, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, ayuntil he knew that the azMost High God rules the kingdom of mankind and sets over it whom he will.
