Job 13:15

15 aThough he slay me, I will bhope in him;
Or Behold, he will slay me; I have no hope

yet I will dargue my ways to his face.

Job 23:10-12

10But he eknows fthe way that I gtake;
when he has htried me, I shall come out as gold.
11My foot ihas held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have jnot turned aside.
12I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have ktreasured the words of his mouth more than my lportion of food.

Job 27:5-6

5Far be it from me to say that you are right;
till I die I will not put away my mintegrity from me.
6I nhold fast my righteousness and will not let it go;
my heart does not oreproach me for any of my days.

Job 31

Job’s Final Appeal

1 “I have made a covenant with my peyes;
how then could I gaze at a virgin?
2What would be qmy portion from God above
and rmy heritage from the Almighty on high?
3Is not calamity for the unrighteous,
and disaster for the workers of iniquity?
4 sDoes not he see my ways
and tnumber all my steps?
5 If I have walked with falsehood
and my foot has hastened to deceit;
6(Let me be uweighed in a just balance,
and let God know my integrity!)
7if my step has turned aside from the way
and vmy heart has gone after my eyes,
and if any wspot has stuck to my hands,
8then let me xsow, and another eat,
and let what grows for me
Or  let my descendants
be rooted out.
9 If my heart has been enticed toward a woman,
and I have zlain in wait at my neighbor’s door,
10then let my wife aagrind for another,
and let others abbow down on her.
11For that would be a heinous crime;
that would be an iniquity acto be punished by the judges;
12for that would be a fire adthat consumes as far as Abaddon,
and it would burn to the root all my increase.
13 If I have rejected the cause of my manservant or my maidservant,
when they brought a complaint against me,
14what then shall I do when God rises up?
When he aemakes inquiry, what shall I answer him?
15Did afnot he who made me in the womb make him?
And did not one fashion us in the womb?
16 If I have agwithheld anything that the poor desired,
or have ahcaused the eyes of the widow to fail,
17or have eaten my morsel alone,
and the fatherless has not eaten of it
18(for from my youth the fatherless
Hebrew he
grew up with me as with a father,
and from my mother’s womb I guided the widow
Hebrew her
),
19if I have seen anyone akperish for allack of clothing,
or the needy without amcovering,
20if his body has not anblessed me,
Hebrew  if his loins have not blessed me

and if he was not warmed with the fleece of my sheep,
21if I have raised my hand against apthe fatherless,
because I saw my help in aqthe gate,
22then let my shoulder blade fall from my shoulder,
and let my arm be broken from its socket.
23For I was arin terror of calamity from God,
and I could not have faced his asmajesty.
24 at“If I have made gold my autrust
or called avfine gold my confidence,
25if I have awrejoiced because my wealth was abundant
or because axmy hand had found much,
26 ayif I have looked at the sun
Hebrew  the light
when it shone,
or bathe moon moving in splendor,
27and my heart has been secretly enticed,
and my mouth has kissed my hand,
28this also would be bban iniquity to be punished by the judges,
for I would have been false to God above.
29 If I have bcrejoiced at the ruin of him who hated me,
or exulted when evil overtook him
30( bdI have not let my mouth sin
by asking for his life with a curse),
31if the men of my tent have not said,
Who is there that has not been filled with his bemeat?’
32( bfthe sojourner has not lodged in the street;
I have opened my doors to the traveler),
33if I bghave concealed my transgressions bhas others do
Or  as Adam did

by hiding my iniquity in my heart,
34because I stood in great fear of bjthe multitude,
and the contempt of families terrified me,
so that I kept silence, and did not go out of doors
35Oh, that I had one to hear me!
(Here is my signature! Let the Almighty bkanswer me!)
Oh, that I had blthe indictment written by my adversary!
36Surely I would carry it on my bmshoulder;
I would bnbind it on me as boa crown;
37I would give him an account of all my steps;
like a prince I would approach him.
38 If my land has cried out against me
and its furrows have wept together,
39 bpif I have eaten its yield without payment
and made its owners bqbreathe their last,
40let brthorns grow instead of wheat,
and foul weeds instead of barley.”
The words of Job are ended.

Psalms 7:3-5

3 O Lord my God, bsif I have done this,
if there is btwrong in my hands,
4if I have repaid bumy friend
Hebrew the one at peace with me
with evil
or bwplundered my enemy without cause,
5let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it,
and let him bxtrample my life to the ground
and lay my glory in the dust.  Selah

Psalms 44:17-21

17 byAll this has come upon us,
though we have not forgotten you,
and we have not been false to your covenant.
18Our heart has not turned back,
nor have our bzsteps cadeparted from your way;
19yet you have cbbroken us in the place of ccjackals
and covered us with cdthe shadow of death.
20If we had forgotten the name of our God
or cespread out our hands to cfa foreign god,
21 cgwould not God discover this?
chFor he knows the secrets of the heart.

Isaiah 38:3

3and said, “Please, O Lord, remember how ciI have walked before you in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
