Job 14:7-10

7 “For there is hope for a tree,
if it be cut down, that it will sprout again,
and that its shoots will not cease.
8Though its root grow old in the earth,
and aits stump die in the soil,
9yet at the scent of water it will bud
and put out bbranches like a young plant.
10But a man dies and is laid low;
man breathes his last, and cwhere is he?

Job 18:16-17

16His droots dry up beneath,
and his branches ewither above.
17His fmemory perishes from the earth,
and he has no name in the street.

Daniel 4:14

14He gproclaimed aloud and said thus: hChop down the tree and ilop off its branches, jstrip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. kLet the beasts flee from under it and the birds from its branches.

Matthew 3:10

10Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. lEvery tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
