Job 14:7-9

7 “For there is hope for a tree,
if it be cut down, that it will sprout again,
and that its shoots will not cease.
8Though its root grow old in the earth,
and aits stump die in the soil,
9yet at the scent of water it will bud
and put out bbranches like a young plant.

Ezekiel 29:14-15

14and cI will restore the fortunes of Egypt and bring them back to dthe land of Pathros, the land of their origin, and there they shall be a lowly kingdom. 15It shall be the most lowly of the kingdoms, eand never again exalt itself above the nations. And I will make them so small that they will never again rule over the nations.

Daniel 4:25-27

25 fthat you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be made gto eat grass like an ox, and you shall be wet with the dew of heaven, and hseven periods of time shall pass over you, till iyou know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will. 26And as it was commanded jto leave the stump of the roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be confirmed for you from the time that you know that Heaven rules. 27Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you: break off your sins by kpracticing righteousness, land your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, mthat there may perhaps be a lengthening of your prosperity.”
