Job 17:13-14

13If I hope for aSheol as bmy house,
if I make my bed in darkness,
14if I say to the pit, ‘You are my father,’
and to the worm, ‘My mother,’ or ‘My sister,’

Psalms 88:3-5

3 For my soul is full of troubles,
and cmy life draws near to dSheol.
4I am counted among those who ego down to the pit;
I am a man who has no strength,
5like one set loose among the dead,
like the slain that lie in the grave,
like those whom fyou remember no more,
for they are gcut off from your hand.

Isaiah 38:10-14

10 I said, hIn the middle
Or  In the quiet
of my days
I must depart;
I am consigned to the gates of Sheol
for the rest of my years.
11I said, I shall not see the Lord,
the Lord jin the land of the living;
I shall look on man no more
among the inhabitants of the world.
12My dwelling is plucked up and removed from me
klike a shepherd’s tent;
llike a weaver mI have rolled up my life;
nhe cuts me off from the loom;
ofrom day to night you bring me to an end;
13 pI calmed myself
Or (with Targum)  I cried for help
until morning;
like a lion rhe breaks all my bones;
from day to night you bring me to an end.
14 Like sa swallow or a crane I chirp;
tI moan like a dove.
uMy eyes are weary with looking upward.
O Lord, I am oppressed; vbe my pledge of safety!
