Ezekiel 37:1-14

The Valley of Dry Bones

1 gThe hand of the Lord was upon me, and hhe brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley;
Or plain; also verse 2
it was full of bones.
2And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. 3And he said to me, jSon of man, kcan these bones live?” And lI answered, “O Lord God, you know.” 4Then he said to me, mProphesy over these bones, and say to them, nO dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause obreath
Or spirit; also verses 6, 9, 10
to enter you, and you shall live.
6 qAnd I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and rcover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, sand you shall know that I am the Lord.”

7So I prophesied tas I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, ua rattling,
Or  an earthquake (compare 3:12, 13)
and the bones came together, bone to its bone.
8And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But wthere was no breath in them. 9Then he said to me, xProphesy to the breath; prophesy, yson of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from zthe four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” 10So I prophesied aaas he commanded me, and abthe breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11Then he said to me, acSon of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and adour hope is lost; aewe are indeed cut off.’ 12Therefore afprophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, agI will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And ahI will bring you into the land of Israel. 13And aiyou shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14And ajI will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; akI have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.”

Matthew 22:29-32

29But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, albecause you know neither the Scriptures nor amthe power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither anmarry nor aoare given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 31And as for the resurrection of the dead, aphave you not read what was said to you by God: 32 aqI am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living.”

John 5:28-29

28Do not marvel at this, for aran hour is coming when asall who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29and come out, atthose who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

Acts 26:8

8Why is it thought auincredible by any of you that God raises the dead?
