Mark 8:35-37

The same Greek word can mean either soul or  life, depending on the context; twice in this verse and once in verse 36 and once in verse 37
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake eand the gospel’s will save it.
36 fFor what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 37For gwhat can a man give in return for his soul?

Luke 9:24-25

24For hwhoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 iFor what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?
