The River of Life

1Then the angel
Greek he
showed me othe river of pthe water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
2through the middle of qthe street of the city; ralso, on either side of the river, sthe tree of life
Or  the Lamb. In the midst of the street of the city, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life
with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were ufor the healing of the nations.
3 vNo longer will there be anything accursed, but wthe throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and xhis servants
Greek bondservants; also verse 6
will worship him.
4 zThey will see his face, and aahis name will be on their foreheads. 5And abnight will be no more. They will need no light of lamp acor sun, for adthe Lord God will be their light, and aethey will reign forever and ever.

Jesus Is Coming

6And he said to me, afThese words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of agthe spirits of the prophets, ahhas sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”

7And behold, aiI am coming soon. ajBlessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

8I, akJohn, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, alI fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 9 ambut he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant
Greek  fellow bondservant
with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those aowho keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

10And he said to me, ap“Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 aqLet the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

12Behold, arI am coming soon, asbringing my recompense with me, atto repay each one for what he has done. 13 auI am the Alpha and the Omega, avthe first and the last, awthe beginning and the end.”

14Blessed are those who axwash their robes,
Some manuscripts do his commandments
so that they may have the right to azthe tree of life and that bathey may enter the city by the gates.
15 bbOutside are bcthe dogs bdand sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

16 beI, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things bffor the churches. I am bgthe root and bhthe descendant of David, bithe bright morning star.”

17The Spirit and bjthe Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And bklet the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the blwater of life without price.
