Job 20:5-7

5 athat the exulting of the wicked is short,
and the joy of the godless but for a moment?
6 bThough his height mount up to the heavens,
and his head reach to the clouds,
7he will perish forever like his own cdung;
those who have seen him will say, dWhere is he?’

Psalms 37:35-36

35 eI have seen a wicked, ruthless man,
spreading himself like fa green laurel tree.
The identity of this tree is uncertain

36But he passed away,
Or  But one passed by
and behold, ihe was no more;
though I sought him, he could not be found.

Psalms 49:6-12

6those who jtrust in their wealth
and boast of the abundance of their riches?
7Truly no man kcan ransom another,
or lgive to God mthe price of his life,
8for nthe ransom of their life is costly
and can never suffice,
9that he should live on forever
and onever see the pit.
10 For he sees pthat even the wise die;
qthe fool and the stupid alike must perish
and rleave their wealth to others.
11Their sgraves are their homes forever,
Septuagint, Syriac, Targum; Hebrew  Their inward thought was that their homes were forever

their dwelling places uto all generations,
though they vcalled lands by their own names.
12Man in his pomp wwill not remain;
xhe is like the beasts that perish.

Psalms 73:17-20

17until I went into ythe sanctuary of God;
then I discerned their zend.
18 Truly you set them in aaslippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
19How they are destroyed abin a moment,
swept away utterly by acterrors!
20Like ada dream when one awakes,
O Lord, when aeyou rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms.

Luke 12:20

20But God said to him, afFool! agThis night ahyour soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, aiwhose will they be?’
