Job 20:5-8

5 athat the exulting of the wicked is short,
and the joy of the godless but for a moment?
6 bThough his height mount up to the heavens,
and his head reach to the clouds,
7he will perish forever like his own cdung;
those who have seen him will say, dWhere is he?’
8He will fly away like ea dream and not be found;
he will be chased away like a vision of the night.

Job 20:20-22

20 Because he fknew no gcontentment in his belly,
hhe will not let anything in which he delights escape him.
21There was nothing left after he had eaten;
therefore his prosperity will not endure.
22In the fullness of his sufficiency he will be in distress;
the hand of everyone in misery will come against him.

28The possessions of his house will be carried away,

Habakkuk 2:6-8

Woe to the Chaldeans

6Shall not all these jtake up their taunt against him, with scoffing and riddles for him, and say,

kWoe to him lwho heaps up what is not his own—
for mhow long?—
and nloads himself with pledges!”
7 oWill not your debtors suddenly arise,
and those awake who will make you tremble?
Then you will be spoil for them.
8 pBecause you have plundered many nations,
all the remnant of the peoples shall plunder you,
qfor the blood of man and rviolence to the earth,
to cities and all who dwell in them.

Zephaniah 1:18

18 sNeither their silver nor their gold
shall be able to deliver them
on the day of the wrath of the Lord.
tIn the fire of his jealousy,
uall the earth shall be consumed;
vfor a full and sudden end
he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.
