Job 21:7-15

7 ^aWhy do the wicked live,
reach old age, and grow mighty in power?
8 Their ^boffspring are established in their presence,
and their descendants before their eyes.
9 Their houses are ^csafe from fear,
and ^dno rod of God is upon them.
10 Their bull breeds without fail;
their cow calves and ^edoes not miscarry.
11 They send out their ^flittle boys like a flock,
and their children dance.
12 They sing to ^gthe tambourine and ^hthe lyre
and rejoice to the sound of ⁱthe pipe.
13 They ^jspend their days in prosperity,
and in ^kpeace they go down to ^lSheol.
14 They say to God, ^m‘Depart from us!
We do not desire the knowledge of your ways.
15 ⁿWhat is the Almighty, that we should serve him?
And what ^oprofit do we get if we pray to him?’

Psalms 73:3-13

3 ^pFor I was ^qenvious of the arrogant
when I saw the ^rprosperity of the wicked.
4 For they have no pangs until death;
their bodies are fat and sleek.
5 They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not ^sstricken like the rest of mankind.
6 Therefore pride is ^ttheir necklace;
violence covers them as ^ua garment.
7 Their ^veyes swell out through fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.
8 They scoff and ^wspeak with malice;
loftily they threaten oppression.
9 They set their mouths against the heavens,
and their tongue struts through the earth.
10 Therefore his people turn back to them,

11 And they say, ^z“How can God know?
Is there knowledge in the Most High?”
12 Behold, these are the wicked;
always at ease, they ^aaincrease in riches.
13 All in vain have I ^abkept my heart clean
and ^acwashed my hands in innocence.

Ecclesiastes 8:12-13

12 Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and ^adprolongs his life, yet I know that ^aeit will be well with ^afthose who fear God, because they fear before him. 13 But it will ^agnot be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like ^aha shadow, because he does not fear before God.

Isaiah 65:20

20 No more shall there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not fill out his days,
for ^aithe young man shall die a hundred years old,
and ^ajthe sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed.
