2 a“Can a man be profitable to God?
Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

Malachi 3:14

Romans 6:21

21 dBut what fruit were you getting at that time from the things eof which you are now ashamed? fFor the end of those things is death.

Hebrews 11:24-26

24By faith Moses, when he was grown up, grefused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 hchoosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy ithe fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 jHe considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to kthe reward.

James 1:9-11

9Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, 10and lthe rich in his humiliation, because mlike a flower of the grass
Or  a wild flower
he will pass away.
11For the sun rises with its scorching heat and owithers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
