Job 28:28

28And he said to man,
Behold, athe fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
and to bturn away from evil is understanding.’”

Ecclesiastes 2:15

15Then I said in my heart, c“What happens to the fool will happen to me also. Why then have I been so very wise?” And I said in my heart that this also is vanity.

Ecclesiastes 7:16

16Be not overly righteous, and do not dmake yourself too wise. Why should you destroy yourself?

Ecclesiastes 12:12-13

12My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making emany books there is no end, and fmuch study is a weariness of the flesh.

13The end of the matter; all has been heard. gFear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
Or the duty of all mankind

1 Corinthians 3:18-20

18 iLet no one deceive himself. jIf anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19For kthe wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, l“He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20and again, m“The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”

James 3:13-17

Wisdom from Above

13Who is wise and understanding among you? nBy his good conduct let him show his works oin the meekness of wisdom. 14But if you have bitter pjealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15This is not qthe wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, rdemonic. 16For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17But sthe wisdom from above is first pure, then tpeaceable, gentle, open to reason, ufull of mercy and good fruits, vimpartial and wsincere.
