Job 31:13-16

13 “If I have rejected the cause of my manservant or my maidservant,
when they brought a complaint against me,
14 what then shall I do when God rises up?
When he ^amakes inquiry, what shall I answer him?
15 Did ^bnot he who made me in the womb make him?
And did not one fashion us in the womb?
16 “If I have ^cwithheld anything that the poor desired,
or have ^dcaused the eyes of the widow to fail,

Psalms 12:5

5 “Because ^ethe poor are plundered, because the needy groan,
^fI will now arise,” says the Lord;
“I will place him in the ^gsafety for which he longs.”

Proverbs 17:5

5 Whoever mocks the poor ^hinsults his Maker;
he who is ⁱglad at calamity will not go ^junpunished.
