Job 31:24-25

24 a“If I have made gold my btrust
or called cfine gold my confidence,
25if I have drejoiced because my wealth was abundant
or because emy hand had found much,

8for jthe ransom of their life is costly
and can never suffice,
9that he should live on forever
and knever see the pit.

Psalms 52:6-7

6The righteous shall lsee and fear,
and shall mlaugh at him, saying,
7See the man who would not make
God his refuge,
but ntrusted in the abundance of his riches
and sought refuge in his own destruction!”

pset no vain hopes on robbery;
qif riches increase, set not your heart on them.

Proverbs 11:4

4 rRiches do not profit in the day of wrath,
sbut righteousness delivers from death.

Ezekiel 7:19

19They cast their silver into the streets, and their gold is like an unclean thing. tTheir silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord. They cannot satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it. uFor it was vthe stumbling block of their iniquity.

Zephaniah 1:18

18 wNeither their silver nor their gold
shall be able to deliver them
on the day of the wrath of the Lord.
xIn the fire of his jealousy,
yall the earth shall be consumed;
zfor a full and sudden end
he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.
