Job 34:32

32 ateach me what I do not see;
if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?

Psalms 94:12

12 bBlessed is the man whom you cdiscipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

1 dThe Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has eanointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
Or afflicted

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and gthe opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Or  the opening [of the eyes] to those who are blind; Septuagint  and recovery of sight to the blind

2 ito proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
jand the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3to grant to those who mourn in Zion
kto give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
lthe oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
mthat they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, nthat he may be glorified.
Or  that he may display his beauty

Acts 8:30

30So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

1 Corinthians 11:30-32

30That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some phave died.
Greek have fallen asleep (as in 15:6, 20)
31 rBut if we judged
Or discerned
ourselves truly, we would not be judged.
32But when we are judged by the Lord, twe are disciplined
Or  when we are judged we are being disciplined by the Lord
so that we may not be vcondemned along with the world.

Hebrews 12:5-12

5And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

wMy son, xdo not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6For ythe Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7It is for discipline that you have to endure. zGod is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8If you are left without discipline, aain which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to abthe Father of spirits acand live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, adthat we may share his holiness. 11 aeFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields afthe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

12Therefore aglift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees,
