Job 38:39

39 “Can you hunt the prey for the lion,
or asatisfy the appetite of the young lions,

Psalms 34:10

10 bThe young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who cseek the Lord lack no good thing.

Isaiah 31:4

4 For thus the Lord said to me,
d“As a lion or a young lion growls over his prey,
and when a band of shepherds is called out against him
he is not terrified by their shouting
or daunted at their noise,
eso the Lord of hosts will come down
to fight
The Hebrew words for  hosts and  to fight sound alike
on Mount Zion and on its hill.

Ezekiel 19:2-14

2and say:

What was your mother? gA lioness!
Among lions she crouched;
in the midst of young lions
she reared her cubs.
3And she brought up one of her cubs;
hhe became a young lion,
iand he learned to catch prey;
he devoured men.
4The nations heard about him;
jhe was caught in their pit,
kand they brought him with hooks
to the land of Egypt.
5When she saw that she waited in vain,
that her hope was lost,
lshe took another of her cubs
and made him a young lion.
6He prowled among the lions;
he became a young lion,
and he learned to catch prey;
he devoured men,
7and seized
Hebrew knew
their widows.
He laid waste their cities,
and the land was appalled and all who were in it
at the sound of his roaring.
8 nThen the nations set against him
from provinces on every side;
othey spread their net over him;
phe was taken in their pit.
9With hooks qthey put him in a cage
Or  in a wooden collar

and sbrought him to the king of Babylon;
they brought him into custody,
that his voice should no more be heard
on tthe mountains of Israel.
10 Your mother was ulike a vine in a vineyard
Some Hebrew manuscripts; most Hebrew manuscripts  in your blood

planted by the water,
wfruitful and full of branches
xby reason of abundant water.
11Its strong stems became
rulersscepters;
it towered aloft
among the thick boughs;
Or  the clouds

it was seen in its height
with the mass of its branches.
12But the vine was plucked up in fury,
cast down to the ground;
zthe east wind dried up its fruit;
they were stripped off and withered.
As for its strong stem,
fire consumed it.
13 aaNow it is planted in the wilderness,
in a dry and thirsty land.
14 abAnd fire has gone out from the stem of its shoots,
has consumed its fruit,
acso that there remains in it no strong stem,
no scepter for ruling.
This is ada lamentation and has become a lamentation.

Amos 3:4

4Does a lion roar in the forest,
when he has no prey?
Does a young lion cry out from his den,
if he has taken nothing?
