Do you clothe his neck with a mane?
20Do you make him leap like the locust?
His majestic asnorting is terrifying.
21He paws
Hebrew They paw
in the valley and exults in his strength;
he cgoes out to meet the weapons.
22He laughs at fear and is not dismayed;
he does not turn back from the sword.
23Upon him rattle the quiver,
the flashing spear, and the javelin.
24With fierceness and rage he swallows the ground;
he cannot stand still at dthe sound of the trumpet.
25When the trumpet sounds, he saysAha!’
He smells the battle from afar,
the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

Jeremiah 2:24-25

24 ea wild donkey used to the wilderness,
in her heat sniffing the wind!
Who can restrain her lust?
None who seek her need weary themselves;
in her month they will find her.
25Keep fyour feet from going unshod
and gyour throat from thirst.
But you said, ‘It is hopeless,
hfor I have loved foreigners,
and after them I will go.’
