Job 39:29-30

29 From there he spies out the prey;
his eyes behold it from far away.
30 His young ones suck up blood,
and ^awhere the slain are, there is he.”

Daniel 9:26-27

26 And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall ^bbe cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come ^cshall destroy the city and the sanctuary. ^dIts ^{▼▼Or His} end shall come with a flood, ^fand to the end there shall be war. ^gDesolations are decreed. 27 And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, ^{▼▼Or seven; twice in this verse} and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. ⁱAnd on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until ^jthe decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

Amos 9:1-4

The Destruction of Israel

1 I saw the Lord standing beside ^{▼▼Or on} the altar, and he said:

^l“Strike the capitals until ^mthe thresholds ⁿshake,
^oand shatter them on the heads of all the people; ^{▼▼Hebrew all of them}
and those who are left of them I will kill with the sword;
^qnot one of them shall flee away;
not one of them shall escape.
2 ^r“If they dig into Sheol,
from there shall my hand take them;
^sif they climb up to heaven,
from there I will bring them down.
3 If they hide themselves on ^tthe top of Carmel,
from there I will search them out and take them;
^uand if they hide from my sight at the bottom of the sea,
there I will command the serpent, and it shall bite them.
4 ^vAnd if they go into captivity before their enemies,
there I will command the sword, and it shall kill them;
^wand I will fix my eyes upon them
for evil and not for good.”

Zechariah 13:8-9

8 In the whole land, declares the Lord,
two thirds shall be cut off and perish,
^xand one third shall be left alive.
9 And ^yI will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
^zThey will call upon my name,
and ^aaI will answer them.
^abI will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

Zechariah 14:2

2 For ^acI will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and ^adthe city shall be taken ^aeand the houses plundered ^afand the women raped. ^agHalf of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Matthew 24:28
