Job 5:12-14

12He afrustrates the devices of the crafty,
so that their hands achieve no success.
13He bcatches the wise in their own craftiness,
and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end.
14They meet with darkness in the daytime
and cgrope at noonday as in the night.

Isaiah 19:11-13

11 The princes of dZoan are utterly foolish;
the wisest counselors of Pharaoh give stupid counsel.
How can you say to Pharaoh,
“I am a son of the wise,
a son of ancient kings”?
12Where then are your ewise men?
Let them tell you
that they might know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.
13The princes of fZoan have become fools,
and the princes of gMemphis are deluded;
those who are the hcornerstones of her tribes
have made Egypt stagger.

Isaiah 29:14

14therefore, behold, iI will again
do wonderful things with this people,
with wonder upon wonder;
and jthe wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden.”

Jeremiah 18:18

18Then they said, kCome, let us make plots against Jeremiah, lfor the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. mCome, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”

Obadiah 8
