so that their hands achieve no success.

and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end.
14 They meet with darkness in the daytime
and ^cgrope at noonday as in the night.

Psalms 49:10-13

10 For he sees ^dthat even the wise die;
^ethe fool and the stupid alike must perish
and ^fleave their wealth to others.

Ecclesiastes 2:13-16
