Job 8:14-15

14 His confidence is severed,
and his trust is ^aa spider’s web. ^{▼▼Hebrew house}
15 He leans against his ^chouse, but it does not stand;
he lays hold of it, but it does not endure.

Isaiah 28:18-20

18 Then ^dyour covenant with death will be annulled,
and your agreement with Sheol will not stand;
when the overwhelming scourge passes through,
you will be beaten down by it.
19 As often as it passes through it will take you;
^efor morning by morning it will pass through,
by day and by night;
and it will be ^fsheer terror to understand the message.
20 For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on,
and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in.

Isaiah 30:12-14

12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel,
“Because you despise this word
and trust in ^goppression and perverseness
and rely on them,
13 therefore this iniquity shall be to you
^hlike a breach in a high wall, bulging out and about to collapse,
whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant;
14 and its breaking is ⁱlike that of a potter’s vessel
that is smashed so ruthlessly
that among its fragments not a shard is found
with which to take fire from the hearth,
or to dip up water out of the cistern.”
