17 For he crushes me with a tempest
and multiplies my wounds ^awithout cause;

Job 16:12-17

12 I was at ease, and he broke me apart;
he seized me by the neck and dashed me to pieces;
he set me up as his ^btarget;
13 his ^carchers surround me.
He slashes open my kidneys ^dand does not spare;
he ^epours out my gall on the ground.
14 He breaks me with ^fbreach upon breach;
he ^gruns upon me like a warrior.
15 I have sewed ^hsackcloth upon my skin
and have laid ⁱmy strength ^jin the dust.
16 My face is red with weeping,
and on my eyelids is ^kdeep darkness,
17 although there is no ^lviolence in my hands,
and my prayer is pure.

Job 27:2-6

2 “As God lives, who has ^mtaken away my right,
and the Almighty, who has ⁿmade my soul bitter,
3 as long as my breath is in me,
and ^othe spirit of God is in my nostrils,
4 my lips will not speak ^pfalsehood,
and my tongue will not utter ^qdeceit.
5 Far be it from me to say that you are right;
till I die I will not put away my ^rintegrity from me.
6 I ^shold fast my righteousness and will not let it go;
my heart does not ^treproach me for any of my days.
