Joel 1:12-17

12 The vine dries up;
^athe fig tree languishes.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
all the trees of the field are dried up,
and ^bgladness dries up
from the children of man.

A Call to Repentance

13 ^cPut on sackcloth and lament, ^dO priests;
^ewail, O ministers of the altar.
Go in, ^fpass the night in sackcloth,
^gO ministers of my God!
^hBecause grain offering and drink offering
are withheld from the house of your God.
14 ⁱConsecrate a fast;
^jcall a solemn assembly.
Gather ^kthe elders
and ^lall the inhabitants of the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
and cry out to the Lord.
15 Alas for the day!
^mFor the day of the Lord is near,

16 Is not the food cut off
before our eyes,

from the house of our God?
