15 Alas for the day!
aFor the day of the Lord is near,
and as destruction from the Almighty ▼

The Day of the Lord

1 cBlow a trumpet in dZion;
sound an alarm on emy holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble,
for fthe day of the Lord is coming; it is near,
 2 ga day of darkness and gloom,
ha day of clouds and thick darkness!
Like blackness there is spread upon the mountains
ia great and powerful people;
jtheir like has never been before,
nor will be again after them
through the years of all generations.
 3 kFire devours before them,
and behind them a flame burns.
The land is like lthe garden of Eden before them,
but mbehind them a desolate wilderness,
and nothing escapes them.
