John 1:1-3

The Word Became Flesh

1 aIn the beginning was bthe Word, and cthe Word was with God, and dthe Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3 eAll things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:41-49

41He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found fthe Messiah” (which means Christ). 42He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, You are Simon the son of gJohn. You shall be called hCephas (which means iPeter
 Cephas and  Peter are from the word for rock in Aramaic and Greek, respectively
).

Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael

43 kThe next day Jesus decided lto go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, Follow me.” 44Now mPhilip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45Philip found nNathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom oMoses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus pof Nazareth, qthe son of Joseph.” 46Nathanael said to him, rCan anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, Behold, san Israelite indeed, tin whom there is no deceit!” 48Nathanael said to him, “How udo you know me?” Jesus answered him, Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49Nathanael answered him, vRabbi, wyou are the Son of God! You are the xKing of Israel!”

John 4:28-29

28So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, 29Come, see a man ywho told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?”
