12 But to all who did receive him, ^awho believed in his name, ^bhe gave the right ^cto become ^dchildren of God,

Romans 3:24-25

24 ^eand are justified ^fby his grace as a gift, ^gthrough the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God ^hput forward as ⁱa propitiation ^jby his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in ^khis divine forbearance he had passed over ^lformer sins.
