John 1:4-9
4 aIn him was life, ▼▼Or was not any thing made. That which has been made was life in him
and cthe life was the light of men. 5 dThe light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6There was a man esent from God, whose name was fJohn. 7He came as a gwitness, to bear witness about the light, hthat all might believe through him. 8 iHe was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.
9 jThe true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
