John 13:21-35

One of You Will Betray Me

21After saying these things, aJesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, bTruly, truly, I say to you, cone of you will betray me.” 22 dThe disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. 23 eOne of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table fat Jesusside,
Greek in the bosom of Jesus
24so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus
Greek lacks  Jesus
of whom he was speaking.
25 iSo that disciple, jleaning back against Jesus, said to him, “Lord, who is it?” 26Jesus answered, kIt is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread lwhen I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, mhe gave it to Judas, nthe son of Simon Iscariot. 27Then after he had taken the morsel, oSatan entered into him. Jesus said to him, pWhat you are going to do, do quickly.” 28Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him. 29Some thought that, qbecause Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need rfor the feast,” or that he should sgive something to the poor. 30So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out. tAnd it was night.

A New Commandment

31When he had gone out, Jesus said, uNow is the Son of Man glorified, and vGod is glorified in him. 32If God is glorified in him, wGod will also glorify him in himself, and xglorify him at once. 33Little children, yyet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just zas I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34 aaA new commandment abI give to you, acthat you love one another: adjust as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 aeBy this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
