John 14:22

22 eJudas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it fthat you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?”

John 20

The Resurrection

1 gNow on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that hthe stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, ithe one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and jwe do not know where they have laid him.” 3 kSo Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. 4Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5And stooping to look in, he saw lthe linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, 7and mthe face cloth, which had been on Jesus
Greek his
head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself.
8Then the other disciple, owho had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; 9for as yet pthey did not understand the Scripture, qthat he must rise from the dead. 10Then the disciples went back to their homes.

Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

11But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. 12And rshe saw stwo angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. 13They said to her, tWoman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, u“They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14Having said this, she turned around and vsaw Jesus standing, wbut she did not know that it was Jesus. 15Jesus said to her, xWoman, why are you weeping? yWhom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be zthe gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” 16Jesus said to her, Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic,
Or Hebrew
abRabboni!” (which means Teacher).
17Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to acmy brothers and say to them, ad‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to aemy God and your God.’” 18Mary Magdalene afwent and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her.

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

19 agOn the evening ahof that day, the first day of the week, aithe doors being locked where the disciples were ajfor fear of the Jews,
Greek Ioudaioi probably refers here to Jewish religious leaders, and others under their influence, in that time
Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, alPeace be with you.”
20When he had said this, amhe showed them his hands and his side. Then anthe disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As aothe Father has sent me, apeven so I am sending you.” 22And when he had said this, he aqbreathed on them and said to them, arReceive the Holy Spirit. 23 asIf you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

Jesus and Thomas

24Now atThomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin,
Greek Didymus
was not with them when Jesus came.
25So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, avUnless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”

26Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. awAlthough the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, axPeace be with you.” 27Then he said to Thomas, ayPut your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28Thomas answered him, azMy Lord and my God!” 29Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? baBlessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

The Purpose of This Book

30 bbNow Jesus did many other signs bcin the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 bdbut these are written so that you may bebelieve that Jesus is the Christ, bfthe Son of God, and that by believing bgyou may have life bhin his name.

John 21

Jesus Appears to Seven Disciples

1After this Jesus birevealed himself bjagain to the disciples by bkthe Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way. 2Simon Peter, blThomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of bmCana in Galilee, bnthe sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. 3Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but bothat night they caught nothing.

4Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples bpdid not know that it was Jesus. 5 bqJesus said to them, Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.” 6 brHe said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. 7That disciple bswhom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, bthe put on his outer garment, for he was bustripped for work, and bvthrew himself into the sea. 8The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards
Greek two hundred cubits; a cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters
off.

9When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10Jesus said to them, Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” 11So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn. 12Jesus said to them, bxCome and byhave breakfast.” Now bznone of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13Jesus came and catook the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. 14 cbThis was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Jesus and Peter

15When they had ccfinished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, cdSimon, ceson of John, cfdo you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, Feed cgmy lambs.” 16He said to him a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, chTend cimy sheep.” 17He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him cjthe third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, ckyou know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, Feed clmy sheep. 18 cmTruly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, cnyou used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” 19(This he said to show coby what kind of death he was to glorify God.) And after saying this he said to him, cpFollow me.”

Jesus and the Beloved Apostle

20Peter turned and saw cqthe disciple whom Jesus loved following them, crthe one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?” 21When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” 22Jesus said to him, If it is my will that he remain csuntil ctI come, what is that to you? cuYou follow me!” 23So the saying spread abroad among cvthe brothers
Or  brothers and sisters
that this disciple was not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he was not to die, but, If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?”

24This is the disciple cxwho is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and cywe know czthat his testimony is true.

25Now dathere are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that dbthe world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

Acts 1:2-3
