John 15:1-7
I Am the True Vine
1“I am the atrue vine, and my Father is bthe vinedresser. 2 cEvery branch in me that does not bear fruit dhe takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, ethat it may bear more fruit. 3Already fyou are clean gbecause of the word that I have spoken to you. 4 hAbide iin me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine; jyou are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that kbears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not abide in me lhe is thrown away like a branch and withers; mand the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If nyou abide in me, and my words abide in you, oask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.John 17:21

4by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become tpartakers of the divine nature, uhaving escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
