John 15:20

James Killed and Peter Imprisoned

1About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. 2He killed pJames the brother of John qwith the sword, 3and when he saw rthat it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. This was during sthe days of Unleavened Bread. 4And when he had seized him, he put him tin prison, delivering him over to four usquads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people. 5So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest vprayer for him was made to God by the church.

Acts 21:31-32

31 wAnd as they were seeking to kill him, word came to the tribune of xthe cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion. 32 yHe at once took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. And when they saw the tribune and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
