John 16:33

33I have said these things to you, that ain me you may have peace. bIn the world you will have ctribulation. But dtake heart; eI have overcome the world.”

Romans 8:35-37

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36As it is written,

f“For your sake gwe are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37No, in all these things we are more than hconquerors through ihim who loved us.

1 Corinthians 4:9-14

9For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, jlike men sentenced to death, because we khave become a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. 10 lWe are fools for Christ’s sake, but myou are wise in Christ. nWe are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. 11To the present hour owe hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and pbuffeted and qhomeless, 12and we rlabor, working with our own hands. sWhen reviled, we bless; twhen persecuted, we endure; 13when slandered, we entreat. uWe have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, vthe refuse of all things.

14I do not write these things wto make you ashamed, but to admonish you xas my beloved children.

1 Corinthians 15:30-32

30Why are we yin danger every hour? 31I protest, brothers, by zmy pride in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, aaI die every day! 32What do I gain if, humanly speaking, abI fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, ac“Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”

Ephesians 6:11-18

11 adPut on aethe whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against afthe schemes of the devil. 12For agwe do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against ahthe rulers, against the authorities, against aithe cosmic powers over ajthis present darkness, against akthe spiritual forces of evil alin the heavenly places. 13Therefore amtake up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in anthe evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14Stand therefore, aohaving fastened on the belt of truth, and aphaving put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and, aqas shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16In all circumstances take up arthe shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all asthe flaming darts of atthe evil one; 17and take authe helmet of salvation, and avthe sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18praying awat all times axin the Spirit, aywith all prayer and supplication. To that end, azkeep alert with all perseverance, making basupplication for all the saints,
