John 3:27-36

27John answered, a“A person cannot receive even one thing bunless it is given him cfrom heaven. 28You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, dI am not the Christ, but eI have been sent before him.’ 29 fThe one who has the bride is the bridegroom. gThe friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, hrejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. 30 iHe must increase, but I must decrease.”
Some interpreters hold that the quotation continues through verse 36

31 kHe who comes from above lis above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and mspeaks in an earthly way. nHe who comes from heaven ois above all. 32 pHe bears witness to what he has seen and heard, qyet no one receives his testimony. 33Whoever receives his testimony rsets his seal to this, sthat God is true. 34For he whom tGod has sent utters the words of God, for he gives the Spirit uwithout measure. 35 vThe Father loves the Son and whas given all things into his hand. 36 xWhoever believes in the Son has eternal life; ywhoever does not obey the Son shall not zsee life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
