The Authority of the Son
19So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, gthe Son hcan do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father ▼▼Greek he
does, that the Son does likewise. John 6:38-40
38For jI have come down from heaven, not to do kmy own will but lthe will of him mwho sent me. 39And nthis is the will of him who sent me, othat I should lose nothing of pall that he has given me, but qraise it up on the last day. 40For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who rlooks on the Son and sbelieves in him tshould have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”John 7:16

28So Jesus proclaimed, was he taught in the temple, x“You know me, and you know where I come from. But yI have not come of my own accord. zHe who sent me is true, aaand him you do not know. 29 abI know him, for I come acfrom him, and adhe sent me.”John 8:28
28So Jesus said to them, “When you have aelifted up the Son of Man, afthen you will know that agI am he, and that ahI do nothing on my own authority, but aispeak just as the Father taught me.John 8:38
38 ajI speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard akfrom your father.”John 8:40
40but now alyou seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth amthat I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did.John 12:49
49For anI have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father aowho sent me has himself given me apa commandment—what to say and what to speak.John 17:8
8For I have given them aqthe words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that arI came from you; and asthey have believed that you sent me.
