John 5:39

39 aYou search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and bit is they that bear witness about me,

2 Timothy 3:15-17

15and how cfrom childhood you have been acquainted with dthe sacred writings, ewhich are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 fAll Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17that gthe man of God
That is, a messenger of God (the phrase echoes a common Old Testament expression)
may be complete, iequipped jfor every good work.

1 Peter 1:10-12

10Concerning this salvation, kthe prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, 11inquiring lwhat person or time mthe Spirit of Christ in them was indicating nwhen he predicted othe sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. 12 pIt was revealed to them that qthey were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you rby the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, sthings into which angels long to look.

2 Peter 1:19-21

19And twe have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention uas to a lamp shining in a dark place, until vthe day wdawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. 21For xno prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God yas they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

1 John 4:5-6

5 zThey are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and aathe world listens to them. 6We are from God. abWhoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know acthe Spirit of truth and adthe spirit of error.
